City have shown they can win with and without their Brazilian stars and FanZoner Dave Stubbs has high hopes for the Blues ahead of Sunday's Manchester derby.
After Thursday night's brilliant 2-0 away win to Shalke, City fans are on a major high this week.
It started with the win over Arsenal, who were poor I have to admit, but Mark Hughes went on the offensive at Arsene Wenger, who gave us very little credit for a victory that quite honeslty could and should have been five or six.
Then throughout the week, we were linked with a number of players (as any club with a bottomless pit of money would), but one in particular voiced his ambitions and mentioned Man City in his interview. Kaka stated he would one day like to join the Premier Leaugue and that he's been talking to Robinho and Elano about life in Manchester.
This guy is still officially the world's best player, until the next world player of the year in announced in January, and he's been considering joining us! How great it that? Just to think that three years ago Stuart Pearce was hoping to clinch a deal for Mido...
Then yesterday we went to a very strong German team without two Brazilians and showed them some true British spirit. We didn't need South American flair for this game because out determination and grit shone through in abundance.
I have to admit, I was hoping for a draw at best, but to put Shalke to the sword with clinical finishing, pacey counter-attacking and defending that a 90s Italian team would be proud of, was a testiment to how far we have come in three months since all the new players signed.
There's a sense that everyone knows their place and how each other will play around them. There was very little that went wrong, apart from Richards showing his immature petulance towards his own player Kompany, but that just shows he cares about the cause.
Going into Sunday's debry, City are on a massive high and I fancy our chances. Unfortunately I think Man Yoo are too strong for us to keep a clean sheet, but I do think we will outscore them, hence my prediction is a 3-2 win.
Come on City!
