"I rate Gallas and what he said was spot-on. Only trouble is he should have said it in training, not to a journalist!

Quotes of the week
What a few weeks it has been for the Gooner faithful! I don't know if I should laugh or cry and at times I feel like doing both.
It's hard to know where to begin, but I think it would only be right to start with the Spurs fiasco. Don't get me wrong I am one of the optimistic few but even my resolve is being tested after that!
At 4-2 up at home to the team that sit deservedly at the foot of the table with a few minutes to go, my pals and I were busy reeling off a few classic hits from our terrace back catalogue when the other end started cheering. How could we let them back in? Never mind because 4-3 is still a win even though it flattered them... oh dear. To see them score again made me feel physically sick when leaving the ground. Questions have to be asked.
More on that later...
Then came the perfect match to pick our heads up and put some much-needed points on the board if we are to challenge for the big prize. Relegation fodder (Stoke) away. We lose 2-1. Nice. After the game Wenger says that he knew all about Delap's throw-ins. Well, how about you stop them then bud! That is a long way for us to go only to roll over and die. Stoke are a very poor team but their work-rate and desire was enough. Well played and fair play to them.
So the mood going into the Man USA game was one of fear/nerves/blind optimism. How will we do against the European and Premier League champions? We go and win 2-1! A spectacular show of speed, technique and desire. Nasri at the double and we look on top of the world. I was having so much fun after the game that I was late (very) to my mum's firework party. Not a problem you might say, only trouble is I had the fireworks! At least the mighty Arsenal were off and running again.
Yes, off and running again in the quest for the title. Then we go and lose 0-2 to Villa who played us off the park. Wenger complains about teams "kicking" us off the park but Villa did no such thing and credit to them.
Now we are well off the pace and big Willy decides to tell the world press that our squad is full of nutters. He gets sacked and we get hammered 3-0 at Man City. What is going on?
It has been a crazy few weeks but I think I can help identify a couple of reasons for this nightmare.
I have noticed a worrying increase in some fans beginning to boo our team and players. Don't do it! It helps no one and makes you look an idiot. If you don't want to support us then go away and support Chelsea. The term "supporter" means exactly that so stay at home or cheer the lads. Easy call really.
Monsieur Wenger needs to be more honest with the fans. I appreciate the 'closed ranks' theory but when you hear the same thing over and over again it becomes scant consolation. We are a team in need of some strength. Not only physical but also mental. We have a wonderful team that we are all grateful for, but enough is enough. Get the cheque book out and throw some money at this problem.
The football world stops for no one and if we miss fourth-place that would be a financial catastrophe for our club. We must go out and buy Alonso or Yaya Toure in January. We also need a forward who is not Adebayor. I am not fussed who really just not him. Two signings to freshen things up and add some much-needed competition for places.
I was delighted to see Wenger get tough this week and long may it continue. I rate Gallas and what he said was spot-on. Only trouble is he should have said it in training, not to a journalist! I want him in the team and am over the moon that Cesc is captain. I really believe this is the right move and will allow both players to flourish again.
We need to get our top men fit. Thank you to England for denying us the services of Theo for three months! And anyone seen Rosicky? Thinking of calling the police... We are worried Tomas so just come home, you are not in any trouble.
We need the leaders to step forward and say enough is enough. I will be on your screens for the Chelsea away game on Sunday and I have a little feeling we could get a win.
How? I hear you ask. It is because we are the Arsenal. Keep believing you Gooners. I know it is hard sometimes, but that is all part of the fun of being a fan. Good times and bad in equal measure.
So let's get to the Bridge and roll that lot over for the fans. Come on you rip-roaring reds!
